Anniversaries, hearings, and ordinary Tuesdays

Hard dates are predictable. Ordinary days can be hard too. Both count.

Anniversaries, birthdays, court dates, the first warm evening of the year — bodies often react before calendars do. You might only notice afterwards, in sleep or irritability.

If you know a date is coming, shrink the day on purpose. Fewer appointments. A meal you do not have to invent. One person who knows you may be quiet. The settling tools work better if you use them before you are at the edge, not only after.

You can mark it or ignore it

There is no correct ritual. Some people want company. Some people want the date to be unremarkable. Ignoring it is allowed. So is planning the evening so you are not alone with it.

If a hearing or a contact from the police is the trigger, an ISVA is the most practical support. They exist so you do not have to translate the system by yourself.
